Great stay! Positive: We had a wonderful two-night stay in St. Augustine! Even though the weather was a bit colder than we expected, it didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our time here. The home was comfortable, clean, and welcoming — the perfect place to warm up and relax after exploring. The location was fantastic and made it easy to experience everything the area has to offer. We loved strolling around the historic streets, visiting local shops, and taking in the beautiful scenery. Despite the chilly temperatures, the charm of St. Augustine really shined through. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy and well-located spot to enjoy this beautiful area!

The house was spotless! It was adorable. The colors and layout was perfect. We were staying to go to the Capybara Cafe. We were overjoyed with walking to the beach and sitting on the porch! Thanks for everything!

Worst experience ever Positive: The location is good. The beach is a considerable walk so you have to drive to the parking lots to walk over the bridge to get to the beach. The owner has a golf cart you can use but it is just as well to use your car. The golf cart is an additional $40/day or $280 for the week. Negative: I do not know how to address the issues I had at my recent rental experience through Booking.com. I paid for a rental before it was required to secure the time with my 2 adult children for our Christmas celebration as both worked during the holidays. Weather alerts went out after payment that there would be a polar vortex and I confirmed with David that there would be heat in the property. In anticipation of probably some cold days, we made arrangements to entertain ourselves inside and tour during the days. What we were not prepared for were the extremely cold nights inside. During our stay, According to Accuweather for St Augustine, the temperatures on 1/27 was 46/29 degrees at night; on 1/28 the temps were 59/32; for 1/29 the temps were 56/34 and I left after rising at 4:42 to find the thermostat rising to from 50 to 60. We went to bed with the thermostat on one setting and woke to a cold house - getting out of bed to start the day was difficult. We would change the thermostat to 72 degrees during the day thinking maybe the house was not well insulated for the type of windblown cold we were experiencing. Finally our dog got sick and we took her to an Urgent Care Vet where she was diagnosed and treated for pneumonia. Since she had recently been medically cleared for travel, I have to believe the cold stress was a significant factor. I refrained from reviewing the cost of treatment and any “you owe me” attitude with David but I was not pleased. I was trying to emphasize that it was simply too cold at the house. When I called David from the Vet practice, he still did not seem to understand we were freezing at night. After getting up at 4:42, I was able to capture the thermostat as it had been programmed to go down to 50 degrees and was rising to 60. He had denied this with my first phone call and provided the schedule for heat and cool as he had noted different ranges. I called David about this.

Positive: Very nice and taken care of property. Felt we were very welcomed. Negative: Very nice sized rooms. Large comfortable bedrooms and nice bathrooms with nice walk in showers. The only draw back was such low water pressure in bathrooms.

The Salty Anchor was a beautiful place to stay with our friends. We came to St. Augustine to see the Christmas lights and needed a place to stay. Absolutely awesome home to stay in. We definitely will be back. Thank you!
